Ribbon Cutting for Softball Complex and Administrative Building
The morning began at the new Cook High School softball complex with a welcome from Dr. Joi Williams, Principal. An invocation was led by BOE member, Mrs. Sharon Locklear and Mr. Jeff Taylor, BOE Chair, followed with remarks. Mr. Rusty Beale, Head Softball Coach, explained the importance of the new complex and the appreciation of his team this season. Chamber of Commerce President, Mrs. Heather Green followed with comments regarding the importance of athletic facilities to our community. Dr. Tim Dixon, Superintendent, concluded the remarks by thanking the community for their dedication to the school system through SPLOST funding. Once the ribbon cutting ceremony came to an end everyone was invited to tour the complex and then go over to the new administrative building.
Dr. Tim Dixon welcomed everyone in front of the new administrative building located at 37 Josey Rd. The President of JCI Contractors, Mr. Lyndy Jones, thanked Cook County Schools for the opportunity to serve the system with the building of these new facilities. Current Board of Education members, Mr. Jeff Taylor, Mrs. Sharon Locklear, Mrs. Brenda Moore, and Mr. Chad Sumner provided remarks regarding their appreciation to being part of this endeavor for the school system. Mrs. Heather Green, Chamber President, spoke again to the importance of the school system to the community. Everyone participated in the ribbon cutting ceremony and was then invited inside for the open house and refreshments.
